John Locke SJ on Newar Buddhism
This page will provide links to writings by and about Fr John Locke SJ, who is widely acknowledged to be the founder of the the discipline of Newar Buddhist Studies. An American Jesuit born in Chicago, Locke lived in Nepal for over half a century, until his death in March of 2009. He was founding director of the Jesuit research centre in Kathmandu, known as HRDRC. An article in the SINHAS journal that recounts his life and work can be read here.
